Having the same problem and receiving same error: Error Code: 0xC0070643
Description: Event exec_finished. Using Windows 10 home edition version 1511 with the latest cumulative update.
Have used the AVG removal tool, ran SFC /scannow (all good with sfc /scannow) and ran the install as administrator but absolutely no luck with installing AVG 2016 (zen). AVG was working on the PC previously with absolutely no problem for a long time. So we had to install Avast to replace AVG since we have no choice and don't want to rely on Windows Defender only.
This may have to do with the Windows 10 Version 1511 or the latest cumulative update from Microsoft; don't know. Guess we will have to wait until AVG relases a new build for the AVG 2016 product and hopefull the new build will install.
