Hello Edward, Its nice to hear from you, Thank you for you posting.
Not much use sending me an email when email doesn't work! But I found this morning it is working. So either Microsoft or AVG or gmail have changed something and Windows 10 Mail works. It took long enough though.
Have contacted AVG twice regarding the email not syncing they have NO idea's how to fix it. All they seem interested in is trying to get you to agree to the Remote Surpport so they can charge you a fee. There is enough people with the same problem its about time it was sorted out.
The AVG firewall appears to be blocking Windows 10 Mail from talking to gmail. I tried the fix that an AVG representative (Rajendra) told me, but it still does not work. This fix involved running a downloaded executable (avg_isc_x86_all_2015_6134p1.exe) running it, clicking on 'Repair', and rebooting when prompted.
The message I still get in the Mail window is a 'Not synced yet', and then 'still working on it'. If I press the refresh button at the top of Mail I get the 'something went wrong...' message with code 0x80072726. At the same time the AVG firewall reports a lot of SVCHOST.EXE blocks.
A web search suggests modifying the firewall to allow all communication using SVCHOST, but this is dangerous. Any other suggestions before I turn off AVG altogether?
