Windows 10 network discovery won't turn on

Hi Randy,

Our expertise are limited to AVG. Upon researching, it seems that few windows services needs to be configured on your computer.
In this regard, it would be better if you reach Microsoft support once to check this. Reason being, AVG doesn't interfere with network discovery option.
If you suspect that AVG is causing the issue, let us know. We'll help you with the steps to uninstall AVG or disable AVG components to check.

I can not get sharing "Turn on network discovery" to stick.  Because of this I can not connect to my external drives any longer.  What can I do to get this back?

Thank you.  I'm sure you know that Microsoft is not really easy to deal with.  I just wanted to make sure that nothing in your firewall would be blocking the service. I love AVG, and I sure do appreciate your quick response.  Have a nice day.

We do understand, Randy. To check whether AVG Firewall is causing the issue, we'd suggest you to temporarily disable it & check.
To do so : Open AVG Internet Security - Hacker attacks - Click on toggle bar beside Enhanced Firewall to disable it temporarily.
