Let us run the tools and remove the traces of AVG and then perform a fresh installation.
Run AVG clear followed by remover tool as mentioned in this article to remove the traces.
NOTE: If there are no AVG program found, click on "Run Anyway" and proceed with the removal.
In C: drive, search for "avgui.exe" file. Delete it manually and restart PC.
It seems that you are using the AVG antivirus free program. Refer this article and install it.
Perform windows update and keep us apprised about the status.
I can not download updates for Windows 10. Keep getting a message that I need to update AVG. I have uninstalled and installed AVG several times and nothing is working.
