Windows 10 won't start

I have tried what you suggested but I am sorry to report that it has not worked. Any further suggestions would be gratefully received.

AVG flashed up a box saying I needed to restart my toshiba satellite laptop which runs the free upgrade of Windows 10 but when I clicked restart now, the laptop refused to start. I get a black screen and the pointer. I can access the task manager which shows the CPU is running at 100%. Attempts at system restore have failed. I cannot access the reset option. I cannot do anything. Since this happened after a restart due to AVG I can only assume AVG is at fault. I have uninstalled it by accessing my computer through the task manage but this has had no effect. Absolutely nothing else works. Please give me some sensible options as I really need my laptop back ASAP. Many thanks.

I am very sorry to hear of this ! Have you tried to reboot your computer in safe mode? If not please follow the instructions given in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-reboot-your-computer-into-Safe-Mode to reboot your computer in safe mode with networking and remove all AVG programs and traces to check the status.
