I am operating Windows 7 Home Premium and just installed AVG Protection 2016 with ZEN. Right after installation when I stated the computer a screnn came up indicating the Windows had shut down to prevent damamge to my computer. It said if this was the first time I saw the screen to restart the computer and if the problem persists to contact my IT administrator (that's me unfortunately for my home computer). Unfortunately when I restarted the computer the same thing happened. I started the computer in SAFE mode and uninstalled the AVG and then restarted the computer and it worked OK. Loaded AVG again and you guessed it, the screen with Windows shut down to prevent damage to the computer. i unistalled AVG and need to figure out what to do to get AVG compatible with my Windows 7.
