I'm running Window 7 and after downloading and running PC Tune Up when I try to switch off my PC it continually hangs in 'Shutting Down' and I have to press and hold the power button to switch off.
If I start up in Safe Mode, with Networking, I can shutdown the PC as normal.
When starting up in Safe Mode, the drivers load very quickly but it stops on AVGBIDSHA.SYS for a while before starting Windows, is this indicative of a problem?
I tried to 'undo' the changes made by TuneUp but it didn't help. I had to reload from the last dump before running TuneUp and this worked ok, but the problem has since re-occurred. As I seem to be in a cycle, I ran AVG TuneUp again and it shows the same 1600-odd broken registry items but I'm reluctant to run this again.
Any ideas please?
Alan
Hello Alan,
This isn't the expected behavior.
Provide the screenshot of the error appeared from AVG PC TuneUp.
Open AVG PC TuneUp program interface.
At the bottom left corner, you can find three icons in which click on the center one which will look like "Play" button. You can refer the below image to get this done:
This is to make sure that you have activated the "standard mode" of it.
Check the status with Windows shutdown and keep us posted.
