Hello Cameron, could you please elaborate your issue so that we could assist you better? Thank you for understanding.
I have an Inspiron 530s which, despite its age, has run very well on Win 7. However about a month ago the system, over a period of about a week, began to run extremely slowly. The Office suite and one or two other applications ran - and are running - fine, but Windows Live Mail and Internet Explorer both began to take several minutes to load and often showed "not responding" messages, requiring Task Manager termination of the sessions in many cases. I paid a local shop to find out and cure the problem, with the result that the above problem decreased somewhat but now has returned to the same bad state.
I've used AVG PC Tuneup to search for problems and have set the system on Turbo Mode. The latter helped somewhat. I did malware searches with Malwarebytes and AVG, coming up clean after one infection was cleared. I also used Win. Memory Diagnostic, which came up clean. Could you help? I have only 1 MB of memory, which maybe is a problem - could you tell me how to add another MB? Also, assuming that Win 7 is at fault, could you advise me how to repair it? Thanks.
