I have a Dell E6500 laptop with Windows 7 Pro ultimate. When it boots up the start bar and my desktop icons appear for about 2 seconds and then disappear leaving me pretty much helpless. A box shows up that says "windows explorer has stopped working". Right click does nothing. I am guessing I have been infected. I have tried a couple internet suggestions to no avail. My computer is saying to install my windows installation disk (which I do not have) in order to do a repair. Some have said to purchase and run a windows registry cleaner, but I am hesitant. This has been a great computer and would like to get it healthy again. Any suggestions?
