Windows 8 Laptop can't access Gmail b/c of AVG 2017 update

Your solution was useless.  Did not work.  I did what you said, restarted the computer, then tried to open https://gmail.google.com on my son's computer, and here is the same error message from before (came up again):

Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from mail.google.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

AGAIN ... this only started happening after your update to 17.3.3011 happened (See my first post above).

I do not have the time, nor the interest in running through an entire troubleshooting process.  You know the answer (if you don't, find it), so your next post needs to resolve my issue.  I'm aware of many other people having this same difficulty with your latest update.

I await your successful solution to this issue below...

My son has a Window 8 (not 8.1) laptop.  He cannot access his Gmail account at https://gmail.google.com.

He was only unable to do this AFTER your latest update (AVG 2017).  We disabled AVG, and he could login to his Gmail just fine.

We re-enabled AVG, and the same problem exists.  You need to fix your update quickly.

Nope, that didn't work either.

More information however ... before, I tried Internet Explorer (Windows 8) and Google Chrome to the same result as explained in my original post.

Now, I just tried Firefox as a "Hail Mary" and it WORKS.  So, I want to know why your Update 17.3.3011 isn't working with my other browsers.

I think you have a Dev problem here, not a "troubleshooting" problem.  You have a compatibility issue with browsers in terms of "privacy" in some fashion.
