May I know whether you performed any specific action using AVG program or tools?
My computer now hangs on the Windows logo at 'Starting Windows'.
Starting in safe mode it hangs at avgbidsh.sys.
So I can't boot the system. For the past couple of weeks startup has been slowing down and when you look at the boot logs it is always AVG causing long loading times. Now I can't boot the system at all. How do I fix this?

I have done nothing to AVG Internet Security. I have just let it get on with whatever it does for years. But whenever I get a startup slowdown, there always seems to be an AVG involvment.
Appreciate your efforts in working towards fixing the issue, Phil.
Please reinstall AVG once & let us know the outcome.
