Thaks for responding, I found out the WMI somehow got corrupted or is missing (getting WMI: Generic Failure" message when viewing the dependencies for various services (not just for AVG or Windows).  Unfortunately possible ways of restoring the WIMI I found via Goolgle search don't work, so at this point, the only options seem to be either syatem restore back to 2 ro 3 days ago before the issue was discovered, or do a PC reset (hopefully the option to where I can still keep personal files)

I thought if AVG Internet Security is installed and enabled including the Enhanced Firewall, Windows Defender Firewall is to be off, but this is not the case.  IT was at first, but after the last application update for AVG, Windows Defender is on and AVG is not even listed in Windows Defender Firewall as an option (as if AVG isn't even installed).  The AVG tech said the issue is because Windows update is installing, but Windows update is installed and still having the issue.   This issue wasn't happening BEFORE the last application update for AVG was applied.  I've also tried the repair option in AVG and also uninstalled and reinstalled AVG, but no luck there.  Has anyone had same issue and been able to resolve it and if so how?  AVG Internet says I'm fully protected.

Dennis, if you have a system restore point created to a previous date where everything was working normal, I'd request you to follow the instructions in this article (https://bit.ly/3oFpHXC) to restore your PC settings to an earlier date.
