Windows Defender Warning on Firewall disabled -almost on all boots!

Hi Juan,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
The Action Center/Security Center acquires information about the current status of installed antivirus software by using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).
If there is a problem in the WMI Repository, or the WMI service is not started, the Action Center reports outdated or misleading information.
To resolve this issue, try to scan and repair the WMI Repository by following the steps in this article & let us know if it helps.

Hi, this is pretty annoying, hopefully not a real issue though. Most of the the times, after booting my Win 10 machine, Windows Defender shows a notification on Firewall not being active (and tray icon with a red thing).
Workaround is opening AVG GUI -> Settings -> Full protection and then disable and re-enable the firewall. Then Windows Defender tray icon goes green as normal. But this is at least cumbersome, assuming AVG firewall really was operative during boot time -well, hoping this…
How can I detect where the issue comes from? Any AVG log I may match with Win events?
Thanks!

We appreciate your technical knowledge in working towards fixing the issue, Juan. Here is the article which includes the steps to scan & repair WMI repository. You can be rest assured that your computer would be protected with AVG installed on it. The issue seems to be with the incorrect reporting. Hence, we've suggested to ensure that WMI repository works fine.
In this regard, please try repairing AVG program once to ensure that it is working fine. Additionally, you can check for any other antivirus installed on your computer & remove them (if any, other than Windows Defender). Reason being, they'll conflict with each other & none will work effectively.

I am afraid this link shows no information on this topic, just something about starting Remote Desktop Service in case AVG UI does not show. I will investigate on Win 10 WMI issues anyway, thanks for the hint! I will then come back with some result -hopefully not negative.
