Hi Alan and the AVG Team,
I've been running Windows 10 with only Defender since July last year without any virus issues and thought I'd do the "belt & braces" thing and add AVG, only to find Defender uninstalled. Conventional wisdom would have us believe that running multiple anti-virus apps increases the probability of virus detection.
What is the purpose of designing the AVG anti-virus application to conflict with the native Microsoft anti-virus app, Windows Defender? Secondly, the AVG scan upon installation hasn't revealed any viruses so Defender must've been doing the job. Have I just wasted AUD 74.99 on AVG?!
Jan, Which version of Windows are you actually using?.

My windows defender is turned off, and I can't turn it on, I believe this is because I am using AVG, (paid version) I need to run a malware scan, as someone is using my email address, to send me spam mail, I have changed my passwords, run a full virus scan, deleted my browsing history, and cookies, and emptied my cache, I am the only one that uses this computer.
Please can you help me.
My kind regards
Jan
Hello Michael,
We do understand your concern. It is always recommended to install only one Antivirus program to have better performance of your PC. The AVG program will fully protect your PC the latest types of infections with the updated virus definition engines.
Thank you for your understanding.
