Windows Firewall and Defender

Hi Linda,

We would like to explain it clearly.

Initially when you purchase a new computer you will have a basic protection from the Windows defender.

However, if you install the AVG Internet Security it will automatically turn off the Windows defender.

We could see that you have an AVG Internet Security (1 computer) valid till 2019.11.25, under your account.

You have to uninstall the AVG Internet security from the old computer and install it in the new computer.

Let us know, if you need further help.

Hello,
I have AVG Internet Security and shall soon be buying a new Windows 10 laptop.  When I get it, I will be transferring my AVG Internet Security from my present laptop to the new one.  However, I'm concerned that until ive completed the installation on my new laptop it will basically be unprotected.  Would it be ok if I had BOTH Windows Defender and Firewall ON for some protection whilst I am installing it  or do they both need to be OFF to avoid 'Errors' occurring during the installation process?

Thanks for clarifying re the Windows Defender, but when i initially purchase a new laptop, will i also have the basic protection of Windows Firewall switched ON and be able to keep it on until the installation of AVG Internet Security has completed on my new laptop?
