Hi Yvonne.
We're sorry to hear that you find it difficult to reach our customer care. We're available 24/7 and we can be reached through phone or chat from our official support website http://support.avg.com/.
Regarding the issue you mentioned, it is very uncommon and we'll certainly look into this.
Are you referring to virus definition updates in AVG Internet Security? Please check if you have any other antivirus program(s) installed on your PC and uninstall them.
Do you receive any error message from Windows or AVG when you initiate the shut down process?
First I am very frustrated that it seems impossible to ask a question without going on this plarform.
Reason I need to have contact is that after an update from AVG on 7th of January Windows on my pc (not android) does not shut off anymore; it stalls in shut off mode.
I can not find anywhere how to solve this problem. Can anybody, preferably from AVG help??

Thank you for answering.
I'm not sure what kind of updates were being made. I got a message from AVG to restart the pc. That went without problems. But then after that I could not turn of my pc.
No message, just the shutting down (or turning of) stalled with the regular blue screen and the loop running, that gif that indicates something is happening. I did not wait for it to shut down because it normally just does. When I returned hours later the blue shutdown screen was still there with the text shutting down. And since then (that was the 7th) it will not shut down.
yeah the suport on avg sucks realy bad
We are sorry to hear this, Yvonne.
It seems that your computer doesn't had a proper restart after the update.
We have to make a force restart in order to resolve the issue. We request you to press the power button for 10 to 15 seconds to make a force restart.
Check for the issue again after restarting the computer.
Keep us posted.
