Windows update will not allow me to enable AVG

Thanks, Ranjani.
Interestingly, the problem seems to have "healed itself" about 4 hours after I posted the inquiry, after a couple of restarts. (Also, a couple other issues I was having with the update were healed.). FYI, I could access AVG Internet Security the whole time by clicking on the icon. I will definately retain the link to the repair that you suggest running in case the problem resurfaces. Thanks again

Hello Schuyler,

Are you able to access your AVG Internet Security properly by clicking on its icon?

Windows update (Windows 10, version 1903) yesterday disabled AVG firewall and antivirus. The security settings window has a button to turn on AVG but clicking it has no effect. Security settings window will only allow Mocrosoft products to be toggled between enabled/disabled. HELP!

Our pleasure, Schuyler. We're glad to know that all have worked out.
Thank you for updating the status.
The Action Center / Security Center acquires information about the current status of installed antivirus software by using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). If there is a problem in the WMI Repository, or the WMI service is not started, the Action Center reports outdated or misleading information. The restart or Windows update might have re-enabled them.
Thank you for your understanding in advance. Have a great day!
