I regret to inform you that, Windows has stopped their updates with Windows Xp and the operating system lack the required components in order to provide proper security. Following are the minimum system requirements for AVG Free AntiVirus:
1. Windows 11, Windows 10, 8 and 7
2. MacOS 10.10 (Mavericks) or above
3. Android 6.0 (Marshmallow, API level 23) or above
4. iOS 10.0 or above

Hello:
I am new to this group and I have a very unusual question. I have an old XP machine that I am trying to get back up and running. I need to have an anti virus for this system to help solve some potentially bad issues. I believe I have some type of virus infecting my system. Since AVG no longer supports Windows XP is there a [FREE ?] version I can download on a thumb drive and either install that or run a virus scan from the thumb drive ? My system is a Windows XP 32 bit Pro Service Pack 2
