Windows xp avg blocks internet :(

Hi Matthijs,
Sorry to hear about that. Are you blocked from accessing all websites or is it a particular website you are unable to access? As a temporary fix, I would suggest you to disable HTTPS scanning in AVG and check if that resolves your issue.
Open AVG Internet Security/Antivirus and click on Menu->Settings-> Components->Online shield->Customize->Main settings-> uncheck HTTPS scan.

does not work :frowning: blocks all internet/browser traffic apparently. thunderbird does work however (email client).

when i put the internet security off it will enable me to browse. somehow I think thunderbird mail is not affected. what will be the steps to fix for winxp? because i tried some other suggestions for other OSes

Hello Matthijs,
I appreciate your effort in resolving this issue. In this case, I request you to disable AVG component one by one and check which component (Open AVG Internet Security/AVG Free Antivirus > menu > settings > components) is blocking your internet access.
Best regards,
Alok.
