Since the latest update to Windows10 on my laptop, I have no internet connection. One solution suggested is to uninstall your antivirus & then re-install it.

I don't remember anything about the original installation of AVG on the computer. However, I have my 2 year 2015 licence number, &  file called avg_avc_stb_all_2015_ltst_195.exe. If I uninstall AVG, do I have the right bits to re-install it? Do I just run the uninstall, then run the above file & enter my code to get AVG back & running?

Do you think that will cure the lack of internet connection? My phone & this desktop computer have no problem connecting.

I appreciate your valuable effort in fixing it.
After disabling AVG if you are unable to get connected to internet the issue is not with AVG. I request you to contact your internet service provided to prevent it from happening again.

I did the disable as you suggested, but the internet connection still didn't work. So I turned AVG back on. However the Firewall demanded a restart. Once the restart was finished, the internet connected fine. Hopefully it will stay that way!
