The schedule scan issue with AVG is a known one and confirmed as a bug.

I've used avg for years and always scanned at bedtime with shutdown box checked.
about three weeks ago after an update I believe it won't shutdown anymore.
I have created new scheduled scans and checked the shutdown box but to no avail. Help
