Thank you for the response. I tried all of this, but to no avail. As it turned out, the files' properties were set to block permission. Once I changed the permission setting for each file, the problem was solved. To this point, I don't know what the origin of the issue is, given the fact that the error message that pops up upon attempting to open is in reference to the Deactivator. Who knows...

We regret for the inconvenience caused. Could you please confirm whether you have deactivated the Microsoft program using the program deactivator function of the AVG PC TuneUp program?
1. If so please open your AVG PC TuneUp program and click on the Speedup tab.
2. Click on Disable Background programs.
3. A list of programs will get generated.
4. If you could find the Microsoft office programs as disabled please enable those programs.
5. Click Ok to save changes.
If it doesn't help's please follow the instructions below to restore the changes made by the AVG PC TuneUp program :
1. Open AVG PC TuneUp program.
2. Click on the Rescue Center on the right bottom corner.
3. Click on Undo Changes.
4. Select and restore the changes made by the AVG PC TuneUp program.
I am repeatedly getting error messages from Deactivator when attempting to open Word (.doc or .rtf) files. It is specifically happening to files that I have downloaded from email attachments. Is there a solution to this?
