It looks like you are referring to message appearing on AVG system tray icon.
To confirm this, we request you to provide the screenshot of message appearing as "you are not protected error".
You can post the screenshot by clicking on 'Image' symbol from 'Answer' field.

I open the hidden bar then when I move my cursor to avg it says you are not protected please help
