Surely there is a better solution. I did exactly the same and am getting the same problem. It must be a fault that you cannot empty the cart. Complete removal and reinstall seems a ridiculous solution for what must be a not infrequent occurence. How do you stop the annoying reminders coming up?.
Everything is this thread is true for me as well. No resolution. Help!
AVG offered me a 30-day free trial of AVG Internet Security, but to access it I had to enter my credit card details. So I decided against it and deleted it from the shopping cart. Now I keep getting notifications "you have left something in your shopping cart", I go in and delete the "free trial", and AVG keeps putting it back and notifying me that it's there. Grrr. There is no "cancel" button that I can find. Anyone know how to completely get rid of this and the annoying notifications (several per day)? Thanks.
Yes, Avinach I tried that. I also tried to repair AVG and delete tracking cookies. All of these were suggested by those handling the phone number that was provided with the order (I think it's AVG sales I've been speaking to). If you have any other ideas, please, please, please let me know. Guy said on phone that pop ups are coming from another website. Don't understand. All this is AVG.
I can't believe that the biggest threat to my lapstop is coming from the anti-virus service, AVG, that is supposed to protect me, not hurt me. I don't deserve to be harrassed like this.
Just the same old runaround uninstall reinstall repair nothing works
Hi, here is a screenshot. As you can see it's just one of those pop-up notifications. It seems to come up randomly - one day several times, then nothing for a few days and here it is again.
But the notification is not the problem - the problem is that the deleted item keeps getting put back in my cart. How do you suggest getting rid of it?
thanks
Ri
Hi,
I too have the oh so very annoying, "There's something in your cart" 2-3 times a day, everyday! (Yes I have tried removing it from the cart).
It's starting to really irritating. Please fix it.
Thanks.
It is the year 2021 and I can't believe that I still encounter the same issue as asked by user Ri Weal.
The notification "you have left something in your shopping cart" still pop up every single day,
EVEN I HAVE SUBSCRIBED.
And this annoying notification is just the edge of the iceberg; tons of additional offers show up during a basic virus scanning.
It is ridiculous.
Hi Ri Weal,
This should not be happening.
Could you tell me where exactly are you getting the Notification and when are you getting it? If you're getting it in your Web Browser, I suggest you reset your browsers and check if that fixes the issue.
Please provide a screenshot of the Notification. Click Here for the steps to create a screenshot. You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Gage, are you too receiving the same pop up? Which AVG program are you using?

Everyone, I had this problem and it was not only with AVG but also with a website that I was trying to order Bison meat, they where both sending me this message. The problem is TLS1.0 that we are all running because Miscrosoft is slow on catching up with the industry. I found only this morning that MS finally rolled out an update for TLS2.0, so if you are manually installing updates go do them now, if you have automatic updates enabled then you are good to go, just give it time to update. TLS is a credit card security protocol, this is why carts are messed up.
I will be leaving AVG if I can't find an answer to stop the pops ups telling me I left something in my cart. I am very angered by this. I called the phone number provided with the services I considered purchasing and the guy said he would resolve my problem. He didn't. Then based on advice on this forum I repaired AVG. That didn't work. So I'm still looking for an answer that will finally put a stop to this craziness or else I'm leaving.
Twice in one day!!!
I've had this 'cart' B.S. pop up every month for I don't know how long, and today, it's popped up twice!!
Fix this in an update, AVG - don't rely on an uninstall to fix a glitch!
Stop asking these stupid questions for a screen shot! You have the screen shot in the beginning of this thread.
You know very well this is a bottom feeding tactic that is very intentional and it is so defeating from a business model point of view. If my employee was responsible for this it would be their last day….
I have this bull shit too. Very annoying. New build, removed after it asked for a credit card.
Keeps returning even though it says the basket is empty after I remove it
Dave, we are sorry to hear that the issue persists.
Have you removed AVG from the control panel or used AVG Clear tool?
I am sorry, Mike.
We would like to determine the exact cause of the issue. Let us know the name of AVG program you are using. Is that trial or free version? Please share the screenshot of your cart to check & escalate it if needed.
Thank you for providing screenshot Ri Weal,
It seems the issue might be because of AVG Internet Security previous/old AVG traces. In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool. After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install AVG Free Antivirus.
Best regards,
Alok.
