Your online security is incomplete

"It is starting to piss me off, so what did I do, I contacted the head of Microsoft department and filed a complaint because I disabled ALL NOTIFICATIONS within the AVG Software and also disabled ALL notifications through the Microsoft Action Centre, which should hide ALL Notifications from AVG, but AVG have by-passed this somehow and have violated Microsoft Terms and Conditions and will get a nice letter from their legal team in the comming days/weeks advising them to change their script and remove this notification or they will be persuing legal action against AVG. Kind Regards! Better pass up to your developers ASAP to redo their sneaky little coding of their popup string that by-passes ALL Microsoft Notification Disabling Services!!!"

So, in other words: AVG IS THE VIRUS!

AVG popup.jpg

This is the latest version of popup that has infected my system and likes to come up right in the middle of what I'm doing every ten minutes. It literally takes the focus (term for the active window) away from whatever I'm working on and it has become apparent I need to get a different product. I can't have this virus/malware/adware messing up my work. AVG: c'ya!

Hello Rosalyn,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We value our customer feedback and recently we have implemented the options to setup the frequency for the AVG Marketing popups.
We request you to update your AVG program once by following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1TgZWYq and to setup frequency for Marketing popup please follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/29lFofA .
If you couldn't find the option after updating then please completely reinstall AVG using our AVG remover tool.

Adware
I am uninstalling AVG crappy adware! Ps. I cheched out "Display system tray notifications" everything is default.

It's now July and the pop-up is still there. How long does it take your "concerned department" to solve a relatively simple problem? It would be nice if the pop-up had a "no, thank you" option that would turn it off, for at least a month.

For the record, I did install the upgraded version and was not impressed enough during the free trial period to keep it. I do use one of your paid products, PC TuneUp, which has kept my laptop running quite well for a number of years.

However, I am seriously considering not renewing the license on it and moving to another vendor for my software needs because all I see in answers in this thread are repeated platitudes with no real customer service. This is not support. This is ignoring your customer base.

Well, it has not gone for me. It still pops up every time I turn on my computer.

Please mark this issue as not resolved.

Thanks.

Hello,

I am glad I came across this feed, I too have AVG Free Adition on 2 of my computers, 1 of which is my Media Centre, and AVG has this popup which comes up almost every few hours interrupting my Movies. It is starting to piss me off, so what did I do, I contacted the head of Microsoft department and filed a complaint because I disabled ALL NOTIFICATIONS within the AVG Software and also disabled ALL notifications through the Microsoft Action Centre, which should hide ALL Notifications from AVG, but AVG have by-passed this somehow and have violated Microsoft Terms and Conditions and will get a nice letter from their legal team in the comming days/weeks advising them to change their script and remove this notification or they will be persuing legal action against AVG. Done as Kishore's comment above but still receiving message. His solution doesn't work. AVG please stop bullying me. Asking/begging me everyday to give you money will not make me give you any. In fact I am more likely to stop using your program and staop recommending it to others who might pay.

Hello Jase,
Please accept our sincere and unreserved apology for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please follow the instructions below to avoid popup's from the AVG program.
1. Open AVG program.
2. Click "Options" on the right top corner and select "Advanced Settings".
3. Select Appearance on the left panel of the settings.
4. Please uncheck the checkbox "AVG Advisor Notification" .
5. Then in left side please look for Privacy Preference and select it.
6. Now please untick first option in right side.
7. Click "Ok" to save the changes.
Thank you.

I've been getting the same popup every day and its annoyance.  I'll add a screen shot to see the popup.  If it came up once a month it might not be so bad, but every day is it bit much.AVG Popup

Hello Jay,
We understand how something like this can really try your patience.
Could you please let us know the exact pop up you are receiving? also let us know the name of the AVG product you have installed in your pc? so that we are happy to assist you better. Also provide us the screenshot of the pop up http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot .
Please feel free to contact us for any further assistance. Thank you.

I have just read the 83 comments of people having this pop up on their computer. I have it also but  fist about 2 weeks ago AVG did an update, since then my compute shas slowed right down. I unistalled AVG and then reinstalled it, still like a snail. I have run the scan plus another scan but it's not showing anything. I have been using AVG for many years and recommended it to many people over the years and this is the first time that annoying pop up appears saying my security is incomplete and it's the first time it has slowed right down after an upgrade. I am seriously thinking of deleting AVG completely and finding another one. Many have mentioned Avast, I guess it's worth a try unless AVG would know why it slowed down after the upgrade.

Ever since I bought this AVG, my computer has slowed Waaaaay down almost to a stop and I get 100's of junk emails, stop this or cancelf my subscription!!!

I know this is not an answer, but I don't see anywhere to write a complaint.

Hello Peter,
It seems you are using an AVG free version. The pop up is to notify you to upgrade your free version to pro version to experience better protection for your PC. Please ignore if you do not want to upgrade. Appreciate your understanding. Thank you.

Hello Avinash.

Peter is not stupid, he knows what version he is using. We do not need to be marketed EVERY DAY to upgrade to a product we have chose NOT to use. We do not want to "ignore" this o
popup every time we turn on our computer.

Please remove this "marketing" techinque or you will lose more customers.

I have already filled out a "feedback" form as well as an "escalated" feedback form.
