"You're unprotected"

I repaired it according to the instructions and it didn't help.  There is a red X through the icon and when I pull up the program it says "you're not protected computer protection is turned off".  "Fix now" doesn't do anything.  The "computer" and "web and email" icons both say protected.

I'm having the same issue here.
I did uninstall AVG Free, rebooted and installed AVG Free again.
After the installation it first says You are protected.
But a few clicks later the same form as above shows up again: You are not protected.
So remove/install again does not work. It seems to be a software error at your side.

Open AVG Internet Security -> About -> check its version, it should be 18.6.

Windows 10.  The icon on the bottom of the screen has a red x and says I'm unprotected but when I pull up the program it says I'm protected.  Occasionally I get a popup box on the bottom right that says I'm unprotected also.  What do I believe?  Thank you

We suggest to use our AVG clear and remover tool by referring to this article to remove the AVG  Antivirus Free and its traces, then reinstall the AVG Antivirus Free application by following the instructions given in this article and check with the issue.

Hello. I have the same problem.

I tried to reinstall AVG after deleting it and windows apps won't let me.  I downloaded the installer and when I click on it.  Never mind I found the solution to install AVG.

I had the latest AVG, 18-6-3066, uninstalled it with windows uninstaller and reinstalled it.  I have the same problem I started with, see screen shot.  I've had AVG on all my computers for a lot of years and never had a problem like this.
