I scanned my pc with zip files and all files scan option. Then after popups, I had to uninstall the product. But I think it was not a completely successful uninstall (not sure). My zip files 1GB to 1 kb reduces (example file sizes). Also same applies to video files like mp4. Some files lost (not sure, I had .m extensioned matlab files and I cannot find some of them). How can I restore my files? This was the free edition.

May I know whether you received any threat detection popup from AVG Antivirus free recently when you tried to access these Zip files?
This is just one example from a backup and real one. The zip file on desktop was reduced in size while scan all zip files by extracting them. I am not 100 per cent sure this is because of Avg. But I think this is the case. This is from a free version.

It is not trial one. It is the "free" antivirus which is downloadable without a time restriction or trial period. The one with no payment
