Nick,
Thank you for your patience. In this case, I request you to add yahoo.co.uk website in AVG Antivirus exclusions (open AVG Antivirus > select preferences > exceptions > click symbol + to add files/website).
After that, please check if you can access yahoo.co.uk website with enabled AVG Web Shield.
Best regards,
Alok.
Thank you for being patient.
Please initiate the scan in AVG Antivirus in Mac and check whether the scan is getting stuck for a particular file.
If yes, mention the file name and its location.
Yes the scan gets stuck on a particular file.
When the scan sticks the AVG window shows the file where it stick is occuring. In this case the AVG window alternates between two file locations but never goes any further.
If you look above in this thread I upladed two screen shots on 11th May.
The screen shots that I uploaded show the exact location of the file(s) where the scan sticks.
The scan stops on one of the (screen shot) locations for about 10 seconds then alternates to the other (screen shot) location and then back again after about 10 seconds… and contiues doing this.
Please see these screen shots for my answer.
I have AVG Anitvirus free version on my Macbook. I have two problems.
1. I access a webmail account through my Safari browser. For the last week or so I've had problems logging in to my webmail account. Only about one in fifteen attempts to log in are successful. If I turn off my AVG Web Shield the problem disappears and I can log in to my webmail account every time. Therefore I'm having to leave Web Shield turned off.
2. If I attempt to scan my Mac I only get to about 52% complete and then the scan hangs. Always hangs in the same place at user/library/java applet plugin. Therefore I can't complete a scan.
Any help with the above much appreciated.

Hi Alok,
I uninstalled AVG Antivirus and then downloaded via your link and then reinstalled.
However it's still having the same problem with the newly installed version. The scan still hangs in the same place at 52% and won't go any further, so I can't complete a scan.
Regards,
Nick
