Access to some web pages not happening

Hi John,

We will help you to resolve this.
In order to identify which component is blocking the webpage please try to disable the AVG components individually and check for the issue again.

Hi Avinash.  I'll try all of this again.  I went through the instructions component by component with no good result.  I am presuming that I don't have to 'restart' each time I change something.  I did close Chrome though each time I changed a value.   thanks, Helen

I am trying to access a particular bank web page but am being prevented.  If I remove AVG Antivirus the site works, no problem.  I have tried to identify a setting within AVG with no luck.  Any suggestions? Helen

Thank you for confirming, John.
AVG Anti-Spam feature is not installed by default. If you suspect Anti-Spam feature, please install it once and verify the situation.
But from your issue description, it should be the web shield causing this issue. Did you disable individual components in AVG as per steps provided in the above article?

Hi Why won't AVG Secure Browser allow me to log in to my ShopMate account?  I had an email from Shopmate saying a package waiting for me to pay the postage on with a link to access the site.  I can get to the site but when I click on the button to log on nothing happens.  I've tried to add the web page and log in that way, same result.  When I then make Google my default page and access the site then I get the following message
"Cookies are disabled
You will need to enable cookies in order to complete your payment. Please enable cookies and then close and re-open the browser to activate the setting." but I can't seem to correct this with the settings.  Any help would be great.  Thanks, Helen

Hi  I still can't access this site using Google Chrome in spite of turning components off and on.  I've made AVG Secure Browser as my default browser and working out how to use it but it is going well.  Bookmarks are fine and I am gradually saving passwords as I go in to my applications.  Unless you can come up with a reason why Google Chrome is not working I'll stick with AVG Secure Browser.  I might add that I did try Bing but wasn't successful there either.

Thanks Helen

Glad to know that AVG Secure Browser is upto your expectations.

If the issue is caused by AVG, when webshield component is disabled, you must be able to access the website. Since it doesn't fix it, I request you to update Google Chrome and check the same.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi John,
Appreciate your efforts towards resolving the issue.
Please open your browser, click Menu (three dots) at the top right > Settings > Advanced > Site settings > Cookies and site data > Make sure that you enabled the option 'Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)' and add the website under 'Allow' section. Verify the status and do inform me.

Hi Bharath
I have been through the instructions for this site and nothing has been resolved.  The Anti-Spam is not installed but neither is this installed on our other computer or the tablet and both of these bring up all web sites.  I have double checked the settings between AVG on the Tablet and my computer but cannot find any differences.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks, Helen for John.

John, we appreciate your efforts.

We could see that you are able to access the website in the AVG Secure browser.

Did you try to access the web page after reinstalling the AVG?

AVG Secure Browser is a web browser, with built-in security and privacy features designed by AVG to keep you safe online. The distinctive Security & Privacy Center includes a collection of tools and features that enable you to manage your online privacy, identity, and personal data. Secure Browser is offered when you install the latest version of AVG Antivirus.

You might have received a prompt to install AVG Secure Browser and the option will be checked by default. If you haven't unchecked this option, AVG Secure Browser will get installed.

Are you trying to import bookmarks and other settings from my other browsers?
