After entering valid license, still prompted to activate

I have AVG 2014, I purchased a license during 2014, now it suddenly says my license isn't valid.
I am prompted to activate the product, I enter my license, the code is said to be valid but once I click activate, the message pops back up immediately. My code is definitely valid as it was emailed to me from customer care.
Have looked at various postson here about having the right license, it being for the right product and so on but every time I 'activate' it, the message returns.
Any help would be much appreciated.
