I've tried svaing several times but to no avail either just saving or sending - in normal mode and in safe mode. It says it save but file is never there - I was going to send as attachment. I tried sending via email but get an error from wput.exe - "The ordinal 3109 could not be located in the dynamic link library "LIBEAY32.dll".
a reminder I did point out this was win xp
does the check bot for scna outbound email option have to be checked for outbound smtp to work. telnet test hsow I can connect to destination server and port via telnet but not if uisng the outbound avg smtp port. I do not have scan outbound email checked since in previous verisons it did not work in free version.
I had been getting a prompt from AVG to update my AVG so last night I did to 2016.0.7294 and now my email client (open source Virtual Access) can no longer connect to my gmail account. it ws having problems iwth my WIndstream account as well but I think I got that working. one problem is the update wiped out the AVG server settings so I had to back track thorugh previous connections to determine what ports had previously been in use. seems the version I had before had asetting where you could dictate whether to use SSL or not. in the old days I had to configure my clienyt and AVG and Popfile (for spam) to piggyback in line) and there had to be an SSL socket running also but at some point VG starte dsupporting it and there was a setting in options to use SSL (I think). now there is no option just Regular, Secure to regulra port, or secure to dedicated port. I'm guessing one of these dictates for gmail thta SSL should be used. I followed the how to on setting up to connect to gmail using the port 5100 and port 5200 but still no go. I'm wondering if ssl is getting in the way or not functioning to allow me to login to gmail. anyone have steps for testing/troubleshooting if POP3 and SMTP are getting where they should?
This is on a WIndows XP and was working great before th eupdate wiped away my EMail server setting sin entirety.
More info available - just ask.
