After upgrade to 2017 Internet security, OpenVPN unpossible to connect

Hello Jiri,

I appreciate your patience in this matter.
We request you to change the settings on AVG:
Open AVG Internet Security dashboard and click on "Menu > Settings > Components > Firewall > Application Rules (click on the arrow to display that option) > Add/find OpenVPN and update the settings (allow all communication and check ports).
It will be also necessary to enable the "Internet Connection Sharing mode" in the Firewall customize settings.
To the right of "Policies" you will have check box for "Internet connection sharing mode", please tick and click Ok.

The Issue with adding friend networks was reported as a bug  and it will be fixed as soon as possible.

The recommendation to change the default Firewall rules to "Allow" is dangerous as it's basically disabling the firewall. We apologize for providing that recommendation.

Hello Jiri,

I regret for the inconvenience. Please follow the below steps and check if you are able to access OpenVPN in your computer:

Please open the AVG Internet Security installed in your computer and click on Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Change the application settings from "Auto Decide to "Allow". Once this is done, click on "Network Profile(Left side of the interface) and change the profile to "Private" if selected in "Public".

If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.

2017 didnt accept no configuration from 2016. All the settings I have to do again. But the worst is that OpenVPN (not OpenVPN from AVG for secure browser, but normal OpenVPN to connect from home to work VPN server) - is blocked. Why? The directory Program Files - OpenVNP I have in exceptions, port 1194 have in packet rules. Nothing. Why?
Why AVG 2017 did not transfer configurations from 2016?
It is no possible add lines to Friendly networks - is not editable, no button "Insert", "New", "Add" … nothing. How can I add networks "friendly", credibles?
Thanks for answers … Jiri

Thanks, btw. OpenVPN isnt work again after 2 days. I have to repeate these steps every day for connect to VPN? Or I have to leave the setting "Allow" for every time for all?
Second - the link shows how to add Packet Rules. Yes, its OK. But I cannot define Friends (below Network Profiles). No button as Add, New, Insert …
Thanks, Jiri

Yes, it work now. But setting "Allow" … is it good? It means allow all, allow allways??
And how can I add networks or IP addresses into Friendly (or Friends?) Networks?
Thanks, Jiri

Jiri,
Please be informed that Allow option will help applications to access your internet. To add friends IP address to AVG firewall, please follow the steps mentioned in this article ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-block-or-allow-IP-addresses-in-Firewall ).
Thank you
