Alarm Clock Xtreme not showing snooze and dismiss buttons on Lock screen

I am over 2 years late but thank you Amy. I followed your instructions and it not only fixed my notifications on Alarm Xtreme but on SEVERAL other apps. I think AVG should pay you :). Dexter, I could see how you can make changes just for Alarm Xtreme as you suggested. Do you have exact instructions on how to do that as Amy provided?

Hi, I have the same problem on a Galaxy S10e (Android 12). I tried all the suggested solutions, but:
 1) clearing cache and data and rebooting made no difference,
 2) Edge Screen / Edge Lighting is no longer present on this phone model so cannot be disabled,
 3) I can get into Settings → Apps → Special access → Appear on top, but while there is a very long list of applications, Alarm Clock Xtreme is not one of them, so I cannot give it this permission.

The main problem for me is not just that one needs to unlock the screen and tap on the notification to get to the alarm screen and be able to dismiss it – it also breaks the auto-dismiss function. If the alarm screen isn't displayed, the auto-dismiss timer apparently does not run, and the alarm keeps ringing until manually dismissed (tested with a short 4-second auto-dismiss).

Alarms from the default Samsung Clock application work correctly (and it has the Appear on top permission available and enabled, so it could indeed be what makes the difference), but sadly it does not have the auto-dismiss feature at all, so it's not really usable as a replacement.

I had the same problem just now with my new Google Pixel 6.  The above solution did not work for the Pixel 6, but I figured it out.  You have to go to Settings for the Alarm Clock Extreme app and set "Display over other apps" to Allowed. Then the snooze and dismiss buttons will pop up even when locked.

I know that I'm a year late but I just wanted to thank Amy for solving this problem for me too!

And to clarify that you don't need to turn Edge Lighting off completely, you just have to turn it off for Alarm Clock Xtreme.

Hello Amy,
Please be informed that the issue might be with Android system files conflict. We request you to reset AVG Alarm Xtreme Clock application once, this will reset the configuration of the application to the default. To do so, navigate to the location mentioned below: Device Menu -> Settings -> Apps/Application Management -> AVG Alarm clock app-> Tap on clear cache and clear data -> Force stop the app. Please Restart the device once and check if your Alarm Clock Xtreme is working fine.
Best regards,
Alok.

I am also facing weired issue on my mobile when ever i open this site (https://englishcreamdachshund.com/). it take me to back to previous page.

When my alarm goes off in the morning, I just get a thin notification bar at the top of my screen that says "Select to show alarm screen." But when I press this bar, nothing happens. I have to pick up the phone and push the power button to turn on the screen and then the screen displays the snooze and dismiss buttons.

I wish it would go right to the alarm screen so I don't have to push the power button to turn on the screen. This will keep me from using Alarm Clock Xtreme because it takes me too long to turn off the alarm and my husband wakes up before I can get my alarm turned off and then he is grumpy. :(

To snooze and dismiss alarms, I have selected "by pressing on-screen button." Under general settings I have "show alarm on lock screen" enabled.

I am on a Samsung Galaxy S8, and I have a feeling that this may have something to do with the stupid Bixby assistant. Can you help me?

Hi, I posted here a while ago, but there seems to be a problem with the website, because my post later disappeared. So trying again (hopefully it does not show up twice)…

Thanks for the quick response. I did what you suggested and it made no difference.

But I figured out what the problem was. I'll tell you so that others with a Samsung Galaxy S8 can solve the problem too.

You have to turn off the Edge Lighting setting.

Go to Settings > Display > Edge Screen> Edge Lighting and disable it.

Now the alarm snooze screen will pop up right away when the alarm starts to go off. Yeah!  Now I can keep using your app. I'm very happy.
