When I read the start of this threadI recognised your frustration, Maybe you may recognise the problems I have been having, my thread appears under "General Discussion" like yours. The problems I have had came along with the irritating AVG pop ups that you complain of, please view this thread to see you are not alone, but you may not get any help from AVG.

How do I turn off the annoying AVG pop ups? I've clicked "never" under frequency and I still get them constantly. I think I'd rather have a virus. Do they think that if their ads have been ignored 100 times that the response will be different the hundred and first time? Zits are less annoying. Does their marketing chief work for MacAfee? These pop ups will drive everyone to a competitor. I'm done.

I cannot get rid of the popups either.  I'm going to uninstall and buy another anti virus program  This is maddening.  Like Jonathan, I'd rather have a virus…or zits.
