To get your issue fixed, we request you to run AVG remover tool to remove all the traces of AVG and then install AVG Antivirus free back in your pc to get your issue fixed. To run AVG remover tool follow the below steps :

Accept the license agreement and then choose AVG Product and remove it.
NOTE: Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the drive where you installed this tool and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.
Even though I completely uninstalled the AVG Pro Trial version and downloaded and installed the Free version, I still keep getting frequent pop-ups reminding me that I have lost my AVG Pro protection and asking me to "Buy Now." This is most annoying and I would like it to stop. I was advised on this forum by an AVG representative that It would stop if I uninstalled the Trial version and did a clean reinstall of the Free version, and that is exactly what I did, but it has not produced the desired effect. The constant pop-ups are extremely intrusive and distracting and I would like to know what I can do to stop them PERMANENTLY.

We also had this problem, addition to which we are unable to re-install even after running AVG remover. I think we may switch away as we don't like all trhese AVG pop-ups.
