AVG protection program will not open from desk top icon, I noticed a post to try and repair from all programs. Have tried this repair method and it failed at the last moment
Is there any way to move forward with this problem as I only renewed for two years in January this year

Do you see AVG icon in the System tray next to the clock? If yes please try to open AVG from the system tray icon and check the status.
The icon in the system tray has gone, only have the desk top icon that will not open

I have have just reinstalled following the instructions and using my original key, the program is different from the January update but does appear to work thank you

Stuart, it seems that the program got corrupted when trying to update the lastest files. I would request you to unistall AVG from the control panel and reinstall Download Free Antivirus Software for PC | AVG Virus Protection to fix the issue.
