Antiransomware: can't get avg to activate it!

I see that AVG does what every anti-people corporation does: It refuses to hire Americans and sends its customers to Indian companies. Then it tells the Indian companies to completely ignore every single thing that every single customer says, and to refuse to do anything to help, and to demand a …g picture to look at. Thanks for doing absolutely nothing to help, AVG!
Here are the very first words I wrote: "I have the freeware version of AVG suite for PCs"
Here are the very first non-keyboard-shortcut-phoney-concern-canned-response words of AVG's  reply: "are you facing an issue while accessing the Ransomware protection in AVG AntiVirus FREE"?
Then AVG, if you translate to English, says, "I paid absolutely no attention to your crystal-clear description whatsoever".
Then, AVG inevitably says,"take the screenshot of the error message" even though I never said there was an error message.
Please stop bothering people and wasting their time. It would be better if you would just admit that you aren't qualified to fix AVG problems, did nothing at all instead, and got an honest job doing something else.

I have the freeware version of AVG suite for PCs. There is no msg that says I can't have antiransomeware protection with that free version at any point when I try to activate it.
I keep going through the entire process EXACTLY as AVG says to, and I select (check) all the boxes for all the areas of my machine I want to protect.
There is no option to confirm in the dialogue box. Users can only check CLOSE and leave it after selecting the areas they wish to protect.
AVG does not confirm that I have successfully activated antiransomware in any way.
When I open the antiransomware menu again, AVG always shows that every option has NOT been selected. I have repeated the process over and over for an hour, and it isn't working.
