Antiransomware protection and VPN protocolls?

Thank you for replying back to us, David.
We would like to inform that you can turn on the passive mode in AVG Internet Security program.
You can refer to this article: https://bit.ly/3dMXbhW to know more about passive mode in AVG Antivirus.
Before proceeding, we would suggest you to try using our AVG Antivirus free or trial version to check.
You can contact our AVG billing & sales team using this link: https://support.avg.com/support_sales_chat?l=en to get AVG AntiVirus free or trial version products.
Thank you.

Ok,thanks for the answer.

I use Firefox, and i did not try any other browser.

One can not have two security softwares at the same time, for example 2 Antivirus or 2 anti-ransomware. Thats why i ask if i can turn of AVGs anti-ransomware,and instead using the one i have installed.
After installing Internet Security Suite, then one can receive from the support to adjust the right firewalls settings for Express VPN?
I would be happy to receive an email from you,so that i can get back to you directly.

I dont know in which department i shall post these questions, but i give it a try  here. I cant find any email address to AVG support, and the chat does not start,so i ask my questions here, hoping that any of the staf och users can answer my questions.

I am thinking about buying the AVG Internet Security. I already have an anti ransomware program,so is it possible to disable/turning off the anti ransomware protection in the Internet Security?

Also i have a question regading VPN and protocolls.I already have the Express VPN  that supports a lot of different VPN protocolls like Open VPN and IKEv2,but it also has the vpn protocolls Lightway-Udp and Lightway TCP.

Does anyone know of which VPN protocolls AVG Internet Security supports? Is it compatible with Express VPN?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for writing back to us, David.
We apologize for the misconception happened with our AVG chat support team.
AVG Internet Security is compatible and will work along with Express VPN.
Before proceeding, we would suggest you to try using our AVG Antivirus free or trial version with Express VPN installed on your computer.
Thank you and please keep us updated.

Thank you for writing back to us, David.
Yes, it's compatible. Your real-time protection will be disabled and AVG will not actively protect while in passive mode.
Let us know if you need further help.

Thanks for clearing it out. I belive that there was some language difficulties when chating to the support. Regarding the passive mode, it is there if one is using other Anti-virus program. The passive mode allows you to use AVG antivirus alongside another antivirus. Malwarebytes is not an Anti-virus program. Then one should not have to enable passive mode, since then it disables the chore shields and the Enhanced Firewall?

Now it was in contact with customer support via chat. They claim that one can not use AVG Internet Suite while using Express VPN. Exactly why AVG Internet Suite is impossible to run with other VPN providers,i did not get any answer to.

Thanks for the reply. I am using Malwarebytes besides. Is AVG Internet Security Suite complatible with Malwarebytes while running in it in passive mode?

Hello David,

We are glad to help you.
Regrettably, we don't have a designated email address that can be used to contact us. However, we can send you an email and you can revert back to us.
Did you try to contact our AVG chat support team from a different browser and check?
We would like to inform you that there can't be multiple security software in same system which conflicts with each other and also possible to disable or turn off the anti-ransomware protection in AVG Internet Security program.
Regarding Express VPN, you can use it along with AVG Internet Security and it is compatible, after modifying the required firewall application rules, settings etc.
Thank you.
