So instead of using a convenient tab on Outlook, you now have to open the AVG Interface, navigate to the correct component, and then add the address to be blocked. As Lesley observes, this does not seem to be progress or improvement of the product. As an important aside, I tried Ranjani's advice this morning, and all it does for me is to mark an email coming from a newly-blacklisted address as [SPAM], but still permitting the email to appear in my Inbox (ie it doesn't automatically divert it to Junk, as it did with the old Add-in). I have observed on this issue on a number of associated strings on this site, and will continue to do so until there is some sort of resolution. Apparently there is a known issue, since I have been informed on other strings that the senior AVG Technical Team is working on a solution (a week so far).
Lesley, with regards to the wider issue of the deletion of the Add-in (without prior notification) you may wish to submit formal feedback by accessing the 'About' tab on the AVG User Interface, and ststaing your dissatisfaction regarding the deletion of the Add-in. The more of us who do this the better, really.
Regards
Ken
Lesley,
You can add the email address to black list or white list via AVG interface.
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Components -> AntiSpam -> Customize -> you will have options to add the email address.
Hello Lesley,
I will help you with the necessary information.
AVG add-in for Outlook is removed in the latest version of AVG. This feature is no longer available.
However, AnitSpam feature from AVG will protect your emails from Outlook.
The antivirus add-in on my Outlook email has stopped working. In the account info it is listed as 'inactive' and in options is highlighted as causing outlook to start slowly. It is no longer coming up in the outlook banner
Excuse my ignorance but how does that work? How can I 'train' the system to identify unwanted spam senders, or to reinstate ones which have been sent to spam by mistake if there is no tab onthe Outlook banner any more?
It seems that this is a step backwards
Ken, we appreciate your feedback regarding this matter.
We have checked your escalated case and you requested an acknowledgement of this is being investigated.
Please consider this response as an acknowledgement and we will inform the senior team that you are expecting the acknowledgement and resolution as soon as possible.
Your patience is much appreciated.

Thanks for everyone's feedback on this. I agree with Ken that the add-in should be returned!
I definitely don't have time or inclination to open AVG interface and individually add email addresses to the blacklist every time I receive a spam message. There really should be a direct link returned to the outlook banner so I can do this while on the same page. I have sent feedback via the interface and hope that this can be looked into. Thanks
