Antivirus for mac has deleted all my photos

We appreciate your patience in this matter and apologize for the inconvenience caused.
This is really unlikely to happen if only AVG Antivirus was ran.
Are you using any computer/harddrive cleaning apps?
Did you install the AVG Cleaner on your Mac and tried clearing any files?
Will you be able to provide the file information as screenshot that were shown as threats?

Hi there, I downloaded and installed Antivirus for Mac and ran a scan (there are no options for the scan, I just clicked "scan"). It identified a few threats and I selected fix all threats and they were quarantined. I have since notice that ALL of my photos that were saved in subfolders within the Downloads folder of my mac have disappeared. I have no idea where they have gone but the subfolders were last modified at the time that I ran the virus scan. I have since restored all threats from the quarantine but this has not brought the photos back. Please can anyone suggest how I might be able to recover these photos (and explain why on earth would this happen in the first place?!) as these are photos from my pregnancy and of my newborn baby and are very important to me.

What happened to your Photos is really unfortunate (If AVG really has detected all the photos and moved them to quarantine, then when you had restored the quarantine files, it would have restored). However, I have forwarded this case to our senior team. We will contact you once we receive a reply or in need of more information.
