I’ve been using both AVG and Thunderbird for many years. Beginning a few months ago, Thunderbird displays frequent messages that the connection to the POP server was reset. (Thunderbird does download my messages. My issue is NOT that I can’t access my email. My problem is simply that these error messages are annoying.) I can’t be sure, but it appears that AVG may be the culprit. What should I look for? Someone at the Thunderbird forum suggested that AVG scanning SSL/TLS connections may be the cause. How do I prevent AVG from scanning them?
Nobody knows how to do it?
It turns out that it’s also known as HTTPS scanning and it’s in Web Shield settings. Case closed.
