Antivirus installation stalled now Windows won't boot after restarting

Upon installing, the load stalled before it could finish.  I tried to click off of the menu box and my computer just froze.  I tried to restart it but now I cannot get Windows to boot.  I finally have it opened in safe mode but I don't want to perform a system recovery before I find out how it will affect the installation I have already performed on my PC as well as advise/technical support on resolving this boot-up issue.
