Neilson,
I am sorry for the delay in response. I would suggest you to do a fresh installation of AVG on your Mac and check if that resolves the issue. Please follow the steps provided in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-for-Mac to download and install AVG.
Hello J,
I understand the inconvenience.
In this case, I have forwarded the case to senior team for getting suggestion.
Please keep checking this post to know about the status.
Your patience is much appreciated.
I am also having this same issue where High Sierra and AVG Anti Virus no longer appears in the task bar and the interface won’t load. My High Sierra is 10.13.1. Tried to reinstall it… same result…a failed AVG. Please advise

As stated, it wasn’t possible to re-install because a current installation existed.
I tried killing all the AVG processes still couldn’t reinstall. I then disabed AVG from Start up and re-booted. Still couldn’t re-install.
I ended up having to revert to Sierra, uninstall AVG and re-upgrade to High Sierra.
If you could update this thread when AVG works properly with High Sierra I might try it again.

Since upgrading to High Sierra AVG Anti Virus no longer appears in the task bar and the interface won’t load. AVG process is running.
Without the interface I can’t update, uninstall/reinstall, initiate scans, or turn auto-protection on or off.

George,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern.
I suggest you to uninstall AVG Anti Virus for Mac manually by following the steps below:
To uninstall AVG 15
Open Finder > Applications > right click on AVG AntiVirus.app > select Show package contents > open Contents folder > double click on Uninstaller.app.
To Uninstall AVG 17
Run uninstallation from /Library/Application Support/AVGAntivirus/components/uninstall/com.avg.uninstall.app
Since upgrading to High Sierra (OSX 10.13.1), AVG 17.4 starts with 40% done and continues from there. Have uninstalled and re-installed AVG twice, and get same problem.
