Antivirus Run First Scan for my mobile is constantly in progress

I have an AVG antivirus for my computer that runs on Windows 10 and on my Android mobile. The icon for my mobile has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark and it says Antivirus Run First Scan In Progress. Last Scan: not run yet. Virus definitions: a year ago. When I click on the button saying In Progress, another page opens with 2 things that are on progress:
Antivirus First Scan Running
Antivirus update virus definition

I have just had to uninstall and reinstall AVG because of other problems. These were fixed but the above haven't been fixed. Can anybody help please?
