Are any System Variables available in AVG for report file names?

Alan, thank you for your response.

Sadly, no.  There appears to be NO way to isolate the individual daily scan reports.  It's either ONLY the last report OR a single report that is extend by appending each subsequent report to the end of the one and only the scan report file.  The BEST solution would be to "clone" the old "Scan Report" module from the the previous versions of the AVG Antivirus and include it into the latest version of the product.  That way, you would have the "Premium" antivirus application in the industry ibstead of becoming just another me-too application, just like the rest of them.

At the very least, please add some "System" variables to the application that I can use when specifying the Scan Report File Name so that I can create my own separate and unique scan file names as per the following example:

Example: Intrinsic system variables such as $(ScanName), $(ComputerName), ${Date}, ${Time), $(MonthAbrev}, ${DayAbrev}, etc.  The date and time format that would be substituted would be whatever the user set up in windows (such as: YYYY-MM-DD, HH-MM-SS).  Then, in the user-specified scan report file name, I could enter the following file name:
$(ScanName)_$(ComputerName)_${Date}_${Time).txt  which would give a unique name for each scan report file such as: DailyScan_COMPUTERNAME_2018-09-01_20-50-45.txt

This method would allow me to have separate scan files for EACH time the scsan is run, even identifying the computer upon which it was run (so in my case of multiple computers, I would direct the scan files to a network attached storage system into one folder but uniquely identified my computer name.

In my case, I would probably write a computer application to then View the files, similar to the intrinsic report viewer that was part of the previous AVG Antivirus.

Thank you,

In trying to cope with my newest AVG Internet Security (18.6.3066), in regards with the report restriction of only one report name can exist.  IE: The name you give your report file is static, meaning that when you define the name, it never changes.  The problem with that is the next time the Scan is executed, the new report file overwrites (replaces) that report file from the previous execution.

You CAN opt to "APPEND" the new report to the previous report but that gets messy when you are trying to isolate when and which day an error occurred.

What I'm hoping for is what I have in most applications that I use that manipulate files;  system variable information that can be accessed by the user that can be inserted into the defined report file name.

Example:  ${date}, ${time), $(MonthAbrev}, ${DayAbrev}, etc.  The date and time format that would be substituted would be whatever the user set up in windows (such as: YYYY-MM-DD, HH-MM-SS).

So, you could define the report file name as: DailyScan_${date}_${time) and the resultant report file name (as of right now) would be: DailyScan_2018-09-01_20-50-45

If anything like that is available in AVG Internet Security, could you let me know what they are?

If not, it would be a GREAT addition to the product =D

Thank you…
