Are the reminders a scam or can't AVG get it right

I will help you with the issue,
have you activated AVG PC TuneUP with your new license number ?
if you receive these alerts from email then please ignore it as those alerts are for your old license number.
those pop ups will stop after few days, you don't have to worry about it as you have already renewed AVG program.
please let us know if you face any issue.

I keep getting reminder emails saying "We want you back! Save 30% on AVG PC TuneUp" the annoying thing is,  my Tuneup is valid until Jan 2017, so are they scam emails or is AVG not updating their data bank, this is not the first time that I have received an email like this, but because you can't just contact them  directly and ask if it's a scam or just a annoying email that AVG send out.
