Just to make sure, could you confirm whether the below settings are applied in AVG Secure VPN on your PC?
- Double-click the AVG Secure VPN icon on your Windows desktop to open the application.
- Go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
- Select Network Security in the left panel.
- Under Turn on the VPN, tick the box next to Automatically when connected to the Internet.
- Ensure the box next to "Exclude Trusted (private) networks" is unticked.
Please restart your PC once and if the issue persists, please uninstall AVG Secure VPN, install it again and apply the settings again.
VPN does not automatically switch on a start up, although I have set it to do this.
