Thank you for reaching us out here. Please try to restore the changes made by AVG PC Tuneup to your PC and check if that resolves the issue.
Follow the instructions below to restore the changes made by the AVG PC TuneUp program :
1. Open AVG PC TuneUp program.
2. Click on the Rescue Center on the right bottom corner.
3. Click on Undo Changes.
4. Select and restore the changes made by the AVG PC TuneUp program.

Also try to reset your chrome to default settings and if the issue persist, consider contacting your web browser support.

After running installing AVG 2017 antivirus and running AVG 1 click maintenance all browser pages time out - except for gmail using chrome.

No other page is allowed. I have disabled windows firewall and no change. 

What settings does the maintenance from AVG reset?
