AVG 2015 Installation Failure

Why doesn't AVG include the following removal tool in the AVG folder install? You could place it in a folder called " Total Removal Tool", or "Complete Removal"? This is more of a suggestion. I tried several removal utilities which apparently didn't do a complete removal. Because, when I found and used this utility I was able to do a complete install without an error message. Now my antivirus is once again active. http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501.exe

Hi Dave,
Please try use this removal tool (http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501.exe) instead.
Thanks

No sir i didn't I installed the default installer i will try the full offline 64 bit right now. Alan are you staff here @ AVG or volunteer? The reason I ask is we run a new radio station and are looking for qualified security advisors. Is there anyway to contact you privately and talk shop. I do not see a private message option here.

Having been through the same palaver, I should like to say that this last removal tool did the trick for me. Thank you.

Hi Kevin,
I am happy to see that your issue is resolved.
Thanks for posting back.

We downloaded AVG free 2015 Installer from cnet, started installation process and it installed 80% then this popped up:

"Writing config value failed
Severity: Error
Error code: 0xC0070643
Error message: General internal error
Additional message: Failed to install product.
aAVGMSI_Error27028
Writing config value failed (0xE001003E)
Specified file was not found.

Serverity: Error
Error code: 0xE001003D
Error message: Specified file was not found.
Additional message: MSI Engine: Failed to install product. […]"

…then we tryed uninstalling AVG 2014 with no success. Ran the AVG uninstaller tool and received this message: "Connection Failed".

Went into safe mode and removed AVG 2014 manually. Downloaded new AVG 2015 Installer: avg_free_stb_all_2015_5315_cnet and received the same pop up "Writing config value failed" as stated above.

Does anyone know what I have broken this time lol.

Dave, Have you used the tool yet? Diagnostic output should be auto sent to AVG.
