AVG Alarm Clock App Pro does not appear when alarm sounds

I use a Digital clock app at night.  When I set the AVG Alarm clock app (I have the pro version) on my Pixel 3 everything looks fine (icon at the top of the phone screen, etc).  When the alarm goes off, it sounds, however the screen to snooze or dismiss the alarm does not appear so I can not turn the alarm off.  How can I resolve this issue?
